about this book

When the world thinks of India or depicts India, they always refer to an elephant or tiger or snakes! But India is the land of some of the most unique animals in the world. Animals have been revered in India from ancient times. Animals have also been used in the form of symbols in India.

One can see the elephant carved in numerous temples all over the country. One will also find elephants associated with the goddess Lakshmi as a symbol of abundance but animals are also poached for their tusks, fur, nails, and other body parts. It’s time we make children fall in love with the fauna of this great country- India.

The book is a treasure trove of facts, rhymes, and details about each of the animals in the story, and at the end of the book are activities that can be used to teach children about sequencing, counting, comparing, following directions, finding differences, similarities and other higher-order thinking skills (also called coding skills!). Enjoy this book as a storybook, a fact book, and an activity book.

Enjoy falling in love with the unique fauna of India.
